Introducing Jah Sun, Tantra Coach & Semen Retention Practitioner

Jah Sun is the founder of the 30-Day Tantra Challenge that thousands of people have taken (including myself). In that challenge, men agree to watch no porn and have no ejaculatory orgasm for 30 days – WHILE doing a bunch of other health-building practices.

Last year I hired Jah Sun to be a guest presenter in my Orgasmic Mastery Course because I appreciate the way he integrates his sexual practice into all areas of his life, and I think we as men need as many examples of this as we can get.

In this episode Jah Sun and I have a really down to earth conversation about semen retention, sex, and men’s sexual health in general. It’s a personal treat for me to have conversations with other men who really get the value and practice of semen retention. It’s like we’re speaking the same language – a language that I think we can all benefit from!

What is Semen Retention?

Semen retention is the intentional practice of only ejaculating on occasion, for the sake of improved quality of life, cognition, spiritual depth and relationships. Personally, I like to ejaculate once every 10-12 days, while having as much or as little sex during that time as I want. And or the record, it’s entirely possible to enjoy sex without ejaculation, and not get blue balls at all. One trick that improves everything is learning how to have an orgasm without ejaculation.

For another semen retention example, in my late teens and early 20s I could ejaculate every day and feel on top of the world. Now at the age of 36, if I ejaculated every day for 7 days, I would feel depleted and lose lots of my motivation and vitality. Don’t believe me? Check out the benefits of not ejaculating for 7 days

Is Semen Retention Healthy?

The short answer is that yes, when done with intention, semen retention can be a healthy part of your sex life. Recently I interviewed Dr. Susie Gronksi about this, and you can hear her answer specifically about semen retention and prostate health near the end of our podcast interview (reference the time stamps on the page to find her answer).

Health problems can happen when guys try to do too much too fast. For example, if you’re used to ejaculating every day and then all of a sudden you stop and attempt to go 30 days without ejaculating, you’re setting yourself up for problems. Pain and stagnation at best, and possibly prostatitis or more at worst.

Problems can also happen if you’re doing semen retention without doing any of the practices (yoga, qigong, testicular massage, exercise etc) you need to do to integrate the build up that you will experience. You’ll hear Jah Sun talk about his experience with this in the interview.

Prostate Pleasure & Health

The prostate is THE great pleasure amplifier! When stimulated on its own, the prostate can often feel uncomfortable… But the experience of prostate stimulation while you’re ALSO experiencing genital pleasure can be out of this world. I’m talking mind-blowing orgasmic pleasure. There are some tips & tricks to help make this happen, and I’m currently creating an anal pleasure course for men to cover this and everything related to anal. Make sure you’re on my email list.
